Client: European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP)
Project: MS Nurse PRO e-learning courses
Learning challenge: providing European nurses specialised in the care of patients with multiple sclerosis, educational and training material available online. Nurses often have busy schedules and cannot travel to attend medical congresses and symposia, so the idea came to bring the knowledge to them via a series of e-learnings. This material is available in multiple languages so that English does not have to become a barrier.
Learning solution: For MS Nurse PRO, LAUREA designed and launched a new e-learning on research in MS nursing practice. The course is created and hosted on the MS Nurse PRO platform, that runs on Moontrail.eu software, co-owned by LAUREA. Our instructional designer collaborated with subject matter experts and a medical writer to create an engaging 2-hours asynchronous e-learning.

Results: The e-learning on research in MS nursing practice was launched during an international conference and was positively received.

Project: e-learning on The role of Microglia in Multiple Sclerosis
Learning challenge: To provide neurologists in Europe educational material in a new format, more adapted to their needs and time availability. Microglia is currently a hot topic for the medical community specialized in multiple sclerosis and this e-learning therefore focusses on this topic.
Learning solution: LAUREA is finalising the first ParadigMS Foundation e-learning designed on Articulate 360. It is a self-paced and asynchronous module comprising 5 sections:
Innate immune system in the central nervous system
Clinical progression and the relation with innate immune cells
Detecting microglia-related pathology in MS brain (MRI, PET, OCT and neurofilaments)
Impact of treatments on microglia
Role of microglia in neuroprotection and remyelination.
LAUREA’s specific tasks:
Creating the concept of the e-learning in collaboration with lead experts
Coordinating a team of seven topical experts and four reviewers that drafted the content.
Creating the e-learning in the authoring tool, based on the delivered content.
Executing video interviews and coordinating graphic designs, to be integrated in the e-learning.
Submitting the e-learning for accreditation as Continued Medical Education to European authorities.
Implementing a promotional campaign to advertise the e-learning (LinkedIn, e-newsletter, website).
Results: The e-learning on Microglia in MS will be launched at the beginning of 2023 and will contribute to the continued medical education of neurologists in Europe and to the accessibility of medical information on the role of microglia in MS.
